Dear ACGS Brothers and Sisters,

Regarding updates to the impact of COVID-19 and public gatherings, the old saying remains true: “the only constant is change”. Last evening, Archbishop Beach and the College of Bishops for the Anglican Church of North America have asked us to discontinue in person worship services or gatherings until further notice. They are encouraging us to hold worship services virtually. Community and church health must be a high priority during this stage of the pan-epidemic. The Bishop thought it would be a wise move to honor President Donald Trump’s request not to meet with more than 10 people.  As they honor the president, we honor our Bishops’ guidance.

This means that until further notice, we will not host public worship services or meetings in our church (except vestry and staff meetings). In other words, we are not expecting you to come to the church for 8:00am, 10:30am services on Sundays or at 6:30 pm Wednesday nights for Bible Study and Eucharist services.

We will begin conducting virtual worship services this weekend using Facebook live. We anticipate a 30-minute morning prayer worship service Sunday morning starting at 10:30am. On Wednesday evening, Fr. Hal will live feed on FB our weekly Bible study beginning at 6:30pm. These videos will then be on our ACGS Facebook page for anyone to access at any time.

You can connect to our Facebook page via the following link: https://www.facebook.com/Anglican-Church-of-the-Good-Shepherd-2305174646433260/   You will need an existing FB account. If you do not have one, here is the link with instructions to create one: https://www.facebook.com/help/570785306433644?helpref=hc_global_nav

Although our worship format has changed for now, our financial requirements remain constant.  As you know, we are operating in faith with just enough to make it through the end of each month.  The good news is that you are and have been faithful with your support of God’s work here at Good Shepherd.  Since we will not hold traditional offerings in this new worship format, we request that you send all contributions to our P.O. Box:

Jenny Schroeder, our Church Administrator will be sending out PDFs of the Morning Prayer service we will be using each week.  If desired, you may pick a printed copy up each week on our literature table outside The Church Administrator’s Office.
