Pentecost is the great festival that marks the birth of the Christian church by the power of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost means “fiftieth day” and is celebrated fifty days after Easter. Red is the liturgical color for this day. Red recalls the tongues of flame in which the Holy Spirit descended on the first Pentecost. So, in the spirit of the Holy Spirit, feel free to wear red this Sunday! Following worship we will have a hamburger and hot dog fellowship meal. We’ll provide the burgers and dogs, fixin’s and chips. We need you to bring sides… beans, potato salad, green salad and desserts.
